Handler started working as an assistant host on The Tonight Show. The biggest break for Handler came in the year 2006, when she was able to host her own show on E! It was titled The Chelsea Show. It ran for two seasons. Handler appeared on the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next time across the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend and HBO have been able to broadcast the stand-up comedian's performance. In 2010, it was announced that she was to host for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. By doing this, she was the second female host to host the awards, following Roseanne.
